A town employee in North Providence, Rhode Island, has been arrested amid allegations that he put windshield wiper fluid in a Gatorade bottle, which a coworker later drank, NBC affiliate WJAR reported .

The incident has been under investigation for several weeks , and police have now filed formal charges against 29-year-old Alessio D'Andrea, according to WJAR. He was said to be charged with felony poisoning.

Police said that in late June at the Department of Public Works, D’Andrea filled an empty bottle with the wiper fluid and put it in a shared refrigerator. Two other workers reportedly saw what happened.
