While other parts of the Metroplex, including backyard weather reporting stations, may have reached 100 degrees before Tuesday, National Weather Service officials observe and record the area's official conditions at the airport.

The NWS said DFW reaching 100 degrees on Tuesday, July 29, ties for the 19th latest occurrence. NBC 5 Chief Meteorologist Rick Mitchell said the last time it took this long to reach 100 was on July 30, 2019.
