The Yankees acquired outfielder Austin Slater from the White Sox for right-hander Gage Ziehl ( New York's No. 18 prospect per MLB Pipeline) on Wednesday morning.

2025 MLB Trade Deadline: Thursday, 6 p.m. ET

New York previously bolstered its infield with the acquisitions of Ryan McMahon and Amed Rosario, but adding an outfielder became more of a need for the club after Aaron Judge went on the injured list with a flexor strain in his right elbow. The Yankees plan to have Judge serve as their DH when he returns.
