MARION COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- A 21-year-old Conway man is facing multiple charges after authorities in Marion County found about 24 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle after a pursuit on Tuesday.
Pharrell Ishmel Simmon was arrested by agents with the Marion County Sheriff's Office Street Crime Task Force after they tried to pull over his vehicle on Highway 501 and he fled, prompting the brief pursuit. He was arrested near the barricaded section of Shannon Road after getting out of his vehicle and running away from officers.
Authorities searched his vehicle after the pursuit and found a large trash bag containing 21 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana, three unsealed bags of marijuana, about 24 pounds, and two firearms.
