Passengers flying from East Midlands Airport this afternoon are facing delays due to an air traffic control issue. Dozens of flights across the UK have been grounded or disrupted after an air traffic control provider, Nats, suffered a "technical problem", which was first reported at around 4.20pm this afternoon (Wednesday, July 30).

While some inbound flights are being allowed to land, outbound flights from the UK, including East Midlands Airport, will be grounded until the issue is resolved. While some of the NATS systems have been restored across the UK, residual delays are expected at airports across the country.
