MADISON, Neb. (KTIV) - The trial officially began for a woman connected to several murders in a small Northeast Nebraska town.
Carrie Jones is married to Jason Jones, the man convicted of killing four people and then setting their homes on fire in Laurel, Nebraska three years ago. On Monday, July 28, jury selection began for Carrie’s trial , and on Tuesday, the jurors were set and opening arguments began.
No witnesses were called after the opening arguments, but they are expected to take the stand on Wednesday.
Carrie is charged with first-degree murder for the role prosecutors say she played in the shooting death of Gene Twiford in August 2022 at his home in Laurel, Nebraska.
