BENNINGTON – The Select Board is weighing topics for further listening sessions following a well-attended recent meeting on needed restoration work on the Bennington Battle Monument.

The board this week talked about future topics for the listening meetings during which the public is encouraged to lead the discussion. A June session focused on the future of the historic, 306-foot obelisk, which commemorates the August 1777 Battle of Bennington during the American Revolution.

A public meeting on the monument in Old Bennington was the first in which the board suggested a topic in advance. Local News
