GREENVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - There’s been an update on the death of Greenville native Brayden Lovan .
He died after an on-duty incident at an air force base in Wyoming.
Brayden died from an unintended discharge of a Sig Sauer P320-variant service pistol.
His mother Melinda and other family members are now calling for military service units and other law enforcement agencies to stop using the weapon.
The family has hired the Philadelphia-based law firm Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, which represents over 100 victims either hurt or killed by this weapon misfiring.
Several law enforcement agencies have voluntarily stopped using this weapon due to the safety risks.
