CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WPRI) — A Cambridge man is facing animal cruelty charges after a cat was surrendered to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) with a number of serious injuries.

Jaydan Depina has been charged with two counts of cruelty to animals as a result of the investigation.

The MSPCA first learned of the cat, a 1-year-old domestic shorthair named Sage, from Cambridge Animal Control.

Cambridge Animal Control reached out to MSPCA Law Enforcement on July 15 after receiving an anonymous complaint that accused the man of abusing Sage behind an apartment building.
