OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine — Old Orchard Beach (OOB) Police Department held a virtual press conference Wednesday speaking to media about the arrest of a non-citizen OOB reserve police officer for the first time since he was detained and arrested by ICE last week .

Jon Luke Evans of Jamaica was arrested by ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston (ERO Boston) in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on Friday, July 25, in Biddeford, according to a news release.

OOB police chief Elise Chard said she has no idea where Evans is being held, and she doesn't know what he is being charged with. Chard said neither ICE nor the Department of Homeland Security have communicated with them at all.
