( 25News Now ) - Metamora Redbirds football has turned to a former player and assistant coach, Nick Delinski, to become their new head coach.

Delinski was a first-team all-Mid-Illini defensive back on the 1995 team that made it to the 4A State Semifinals. He’s been on the Redbirds staff since 2006 in various roles, including last season as offensive coordinator.

Now the longtime assistant is excited about the challenge to take over and keep the program’s winning tradition going in 2025.
