A Killeen Police Department officer was arrested after he turned himself in Tuesday to Bell County Jail on a charge of assault with bodily injury to a family member, according to a KPD news release.

The Killeen police officer, Isaiah Guerrero, was arraigned Tuesday by Justice of the Peace Susan Criss, who set his bond at $10,000. Guerrero has been with the Department since January of 2022 and is assigned to the patrol division.

This alleged incident happened while the officer was off duty. The incident was investigated by the Temple Police Department.

KPD has opened an internal affairs investigation into the incident.

The officer was put on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, according to KPD.
