Emergency crews responded Wednesday evening after a jet crashed into a field in Fresno County, authorities said.

The crash was reported around 6:40 p.m. near Cadillac and Dickinson Avenue, according to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

EMS crews are currently on scene assisting the pilot.

CalFire and sheriff’s deputies also responded.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and will ultimately be handled by federal authorities, officials said.
