WOODBRIDGE, Va. — One week after Alexandra Anna Granruth refused to come home when her 2-year-old son was found wandering outside their house dirty and alone, she has been arrested.

The 37-year-old Woodbridge mother was finally located Wednesday and charged with felony child neglect.

On July 23, police say Granruth called an acquaintance after her child was found by himself outside of her home. She allegedly asked the person to watch the toddler until later that evening, but she never returned. When she didn't come home, the person called police.

Police contacted Granruth to ask her to come home, but investigators say she refused. After that, police said their attempts to find her failed.
