Steve Wertheimer, longtime owner of the Continental Club and C-Boy’s Heart and Soul , will receive the inaugural SIMS Foundation ’s Sims Ellison Impact Award at their “Music for the Mind” event at Assembly Hall on Sept. 10. The new award is named after Sims Ellison, songwriter and bassist of the Austin band Pariah who lost his battle to depression in 1995, which led his friends and family to start the SIMS Foundation later that same year.
“Music for the Mind” will gather 200 of Austin’s most influential musicians, industry leaders, creatives and philanthropists for an intimate three-course seated dinner, open bar, silent auction and unforgettable live music performances that will be announced closer to the event.
