Police arrested a LaPorte resident, Keith Allen Wilson, 58, on multiple charges of child exploitation Thursday.

Wilson has been charged with five counts of possession of child pornography, according to a statement from Indiana State Police.

The arrest took place after members of the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant in the 800 block of Ohio Street in LaPorte.

The investigation was initiated off a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children related to the online activities of a Google account traced to Wilson and his residence, according to police.

Wilson was taken into custody early Thursday morning, and was booked into the LaPorte County Jail.
