SHAWNEE, Kan. —

Police are searching for a man accused of stabbing someone inside a business Thursday afternoon in Shawnee.

Police responded just after 1:30 p.m. to a disturbance at a barbecue restaurant in the 10900 block of West 75th Street. Advertisement

The victim was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading south.

Police described as a white male with long black hair, wearing a black shirt, black shorts or pants, and black shoes.

Police are searching for the suspect near 79th Street and Nieman Road.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area and to call 911 immediately if they see the suspect.
