BOISE, Idaho — Juliet Charron will serve as the new director of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (DHW), according to Gov. Brad Little. Charron will take over the position starting Sept. 15, 2025.
Charron replaces the previous director, Alex Adams. President Donald Trump nominated Adams for the position of Assistant Secretary for the Administration of Children and Families, under the federal Department of Health and Human Services. The nomination was forwarded to the U.S. Senate on Thursday by the Senate Finance Committee.
Little said he is confident in Charron’s ability to lead the department “with integrity and transparency and with an eye for delivering services with the greatest efficiency.” He also thanked Adams for his “visionary approach” to the position that helped the
