Outside Sunset Villa Healthcare the yard was festooned with pink flamingos, inflatable palm trees and a tropical-themed waterslide. The Roswell nursing home facility hosted first responders and residents Thursday to show its support for the community and to keep its patients engaged, said Sheena Messick, community liaison for facility.
“We are honoring our first responders,” she said. “They do so much for us, we are thanking them for all they do.”
Messick said such events help the first responders and patients enjoy some one-on-one time together. Sunset Villa dietary manager Guadalupe “Lupe” Mendez, along with Julio Chacon served up chips, sodas and freshly grilled hotdogs and hamburgers. Mendez, said her job is to make sure the food preferences and dietary needs of the home's patients a
