BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - One person is dead after a shooting in the Collegeville community in Birmingham early Friday morning.

The shooting happened at an apartment complex at 29th Avenue North and 29th Street North.

While details are limited, a detective on the scene told WBRC that there was a drive-by shooting into the apartment complex. A photojournalist on the scene reported several bullet holes in the building.

Details are limited and WBRC has reached out to Birmingham Police for more.
