SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)— MLB All-Star Seth Lugo isn't going anywhere, and that's just how the Royals want it.

Seth Lugo is a right-handed pitcher for the Kansas City Royals. This season, he has an 8-5 win/loss record with a 3.03 ERA (earned runs average), and 104 strikeouts. Being one of their most reliable arms, the Royals knew they had to keep the Centenary Alum.

Lugo played his college career at Centenary College of Louisiana right here in Shreveport from 2009-2011. The New York Mets would then select him in the 34th round in the 2011 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in 2016 when he relieved for the Mets. He then would bounce between a starter and reliever during his tenure with New York. In December of 2022, Lugo would sign a one-year contract with the San Diego Padres.
