A recall effort against Sheriff David Hathaway fell through after organizers were unable to gather the necessary signatures before the July 2 deadline.

Dan Dellinges, the Tubac resident who started the recall effort, said organizers had collected more than 1,000 signatures by the week leading up to the deadline. ×
