U.S. Customs and Border Protection temporarily closed down the southbound lanes of the Mariposa Port of Entry at around 5 p.m. Friday evening.

Nogales Police Chief Carlos Jimenez said he was notified of the temporary closure, but CBP did not provide details about what events had led to the closure. Jimenez said it was unclear if the northbound lanes were also closed. ×
