NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — Police are investigating after an apparent incident that happened at North Kingstown Town Beach Friday evening.

Target 12 has confirmed that at least one shot was fired during an incident involving a Rhode Island State Police trooper, though it's unclear exactly what happened.

There are also several police cruisers at the park and ride off Boston Neck Road.
