COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed Friday night that the victim in a road rage hit-and-run has died.

The suspect arrested in that incident, 39-year-old Daniel Nations, was previously facing assault charges but is now facing a murder charge, according to court documents.

The hit-and-run happened on Union near Palmer Park Boulevard in Colorado Springs.

Police said the situation began as a road rage incident on July 24, and when one of the drivers got out of their car to confront Nations, Nations ran him over with his car and took off. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died three days later.

On Tuesday, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 35-year-old Jacob Martinez.
