HENDERSON, KY. (WFIE) - We’re one month in, to the Ellis Park summer meet, but the action is really, only starting to heat up. This is the biggest weekend at the Old Pea Patch, as it’s their annual, Kentucky Downs Preview weekend.

The event was created in 2018, and this year’s card features seven, loaded stakes races -- three Saturday and four Sunday.

The races serve as a prep, for the lucrative, all-turf, Kentucky Downs meet, down in Franklin, Kentucky. The winners of this weekend’s, seven Preview stakes, earn a fees-paid entry, into the corresponding, graded stakes races at Kentucky Downs, with the same name.

Trainer, Eric Foster, who’s based right here in the Tri-State, in Utica, Kentucky, told us, it’s a really, important weekend for the track.
