JAMESTOWN, Tenn. (WATE) — A Jamestown man was taken into custody on Friday after being indicted in connection to an online fundraiser that reportedly raised over $11,000.
David Ihben, 47, was booked into the Fentress County Jail on a $25,000 bond. An indictment returned on June 26 charged him with one count of violating the Tennessee Computer Crimes Act.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation special agents began investigating Ihben in December 2023 following allegations that he had made threatening phone calls to a public official.
According to a TBI release, investigators found that Ihben had created an online account claiming the public official had forced him to get his children vaccinated. He reportedly received over $11,000 in donations through the online account.
