WATERTOWN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Harrisburg Gold defeated Yankton 2-0 in the American Legion Baseball Class A Championship, becoming the 2025 state champions.
Kason Syverson was a force on the mound for Harrisburg, pitching six innings while collecting nine strikeouts and allowing four hits for the win. Eli Kokenge came in for relief in the final frame, allowing two hits and collecting a strikeout on the final out of the game.
For Yankton, Boston Frick was credited with the loss after allowing two earned runs on seven hits in three and two-thirds innings pitched.
Harrisburg scored its two runs in the bottom of the first. Bryson Esser and Taten Munce each drove in one run.
