Ex-Miami Hurricanes star Denzel Perryman arrested for ‘possession of an assault weapon’

Ex-Miami Hurricanes linebacker Denzel Perryman was arrested Friday evening in Los Angeles on a felony charge of possessing an assault weapon, according to TMZ .

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Perryman was pulled over by deputies from the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station. During a search of his vehicle, officers allegedly found two AR-style rifles and three handguns in the trunk. The rifles were reportedly non-compliant under California law, making them illegal in the state.

As of Saturday morning, Perryman remained in custody and is scheduled to appear in Inglewood Municipal Court on Tuesday. This marks his first felony charge.
