TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The newly-promoted principal of Leto High School in Tampa was arrested this weekend and charged with cocaine possession.
Scott Hazlett, 40, has worked in the Hillsborough County Public School system for almost two decades, starting his career at Alonso High in 2007.
Arrest records from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office showed Hazlett was arrested by the Temple Terrace Police Department in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 2.
He has been charged with misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of cocaine.
A post on X from Hillsborough County Schools celebrated his promotion to principal of Leto High less than a month ago, though it did not say exactly when he started in the new position
