Florida football held its third practice of the spring on August 2 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
In all, the Florida Gators will hold 17 practices in preparation for its season opener on Aug. 30 against Long Island University. Florida will then face USF at The Swamp on Sept. 6 before its SEC opener on Sept. 13 at LSU.
Florida senior edge rusher George Gumbs Jr. led the team through pre-practice calisthenics. Gumbs emerged as one of UF's top defensive players last season, recording five sacks and eight tackles for loss.
"The standard is the standard," Gumbs said. "We set the standard at the day one of camp, and like I'm not going for anything but that. I see someone slacking off the standard, I'm cutting to that right now. We're not doing that, you know. So just holding that standard
