A man was indicted last week on a first-degree felony charge after a 4-year-old child died in Killeen, allegedly while in his care, in 2022.

On Wednesday, a Bell County grand jury indicted Joshua Rashad Hurndon, 36, of Killeen on a charge of injury to a child.

The child, Omari Prince Sherron, died on Oct. 20, 2022, after being transported, “unresponsive,” to the children’s hospital in Temple. The Killeen Police Department filed an affidavit for Hurndon’s arrest on Dec. 3, 2024. He posted a bond of $125,000 on Feb. 6, and subsequently was released from law enforcement custody, according to Bell County court records.
