LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - Storm Team 10 and the National Hurricane Center are monitoring multiple areas of tropical activity across the Atlantic Ocean. Fortunately, there are no threats to the Gulf at this time. We will need to start watching the Caribbean and the Gulf for a possible system in the 2 to 3 week timeframe.

Tropical Storm Dexter has weakened and dissipated across the northern Atlantic. An area behind Dexter has a low chance for tropical development off the coast of Georgia and South Carolina as it takes the path of Dexter. The last area is a robust tropical wave that is in the eastern Atlantic. This tropical wave has a higher probability for development but should turn into the central Atlantic during its lifespan.
