EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville Police say they arrested a woman on DUI and neglect charges on Sunday.

Just after midnight Sunday, police say they were called to investigate an intoxicated driver who was stopped in the middle of the road on Washington Avenue.

At the scene, officers say they found the driver, Tamisha McBaine, and her vehicle stopped in the middle of the road facing the wrong way. Police noted McBaine is currently on probation for a previous DUI offense.

Police say McBaine had slurred speech and smelled like alcohol, and that her eyes kept rolling back into her head.

As officers continued to investigate, they say McBaine told them she was trying to get home to her child, and asked them not to call DCS on her.
