LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A press release from the Kentucky House Majority Caucus says that politicians are hoping to create a new division withing the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to regulate non-alcoholic intoxicating substances.
This would include framework for regulating cannabis-infused beverages.
Representative Matthew Koch, co-chair of the Interim Joint Committee on Licensing, Occupations, and Administrative Regulations, brought up the topic in June.
“The market for non-alcoholic, intoxicating substances is rapidly growing and evolving,” said Koch. “While the ABC now regulates cannabis-infused beverages, cannabis-infused beverages represent only one product in a much broader market, highlighting the need to establish an all-encompassing division within the ABC to regul
