CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - A Clinton man is facing two charges of adult abuse by a caretaker resulting in the death of his father.

On May 9, police said first responders arrived at the 700 block of North Third Street in Clinton after John Frank Elder Junior called 911 regarding his father, John Frank Elder Senior.

First responders found Elder Senior with wounds, laying in feces, according to police. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

An autopsy from the Iowa State Medical Examiner said Elder Senior died from pneumonia complicated by Alzheimer’s disease.

Additional injuries included blunt force trauma to the head legs and arms were also found. police said.
