NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Two people are facing charges in the shooting death of a teenager last month.

The North Charleston Police Department said 13-year-old Amir Sims was injured in a July 19 shooting on Azalea Drive and later died at a local hospital.

Through an investigation, detectives were able to identify two suspects in connection with the shooting: 20-year-old Jalin McCormick and 18-year-old Carlise Noble Jr.

McCormick was apprehended by members of the US Marshals Task Force on July 30, and Nobel turned himself in on Monday morning.

Both are being charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. They are being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
