WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — After a violent weekend in Winston-Salem, police have come forth with new information regarding one of the shooting deaths.

Jaquavion Lewis, 16, was shot and killed Friday night in Winston-Salem, according to police.

Officers responded to the 4800 block of Berl Street around 7:45 p.m. and found a teen on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said Lewis was trying to commit a robbery during the sale of a firearm. One of the people there acted in self-defense, shooting and killing the teen, police said.

No charges will be filed, police said.
