Accident Leads To Chase Which Leads To Second Crash In Western Colorado

An investigation is underway on the series of events that involved multiple vehicle crashes and a chase in northwestern Colorado. According to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, on August 1st, a Moffat County deputy stopped to assist at a traffic accident in Craig. “While on scene, the driver of one of the involved vehicles backed into the deputy’s patrol vehicle and fled. The deputy attempted to stop the suspect, who continued to flee and was ultimately involved in a single vehicle crash…The driver sustained serious bodily injury in the crash and was extricated from the vehicle before being transported to [the hospital] for treatment.” The Critical Incident Response Team was activated to conduct an investigation of the events.
