AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - Akron police are searching for the shooting suspects who opened fire on an unsuspecting victim Friday afternoon at a convenience store.

According to police, the shooting happened in broad daylight just before 5 p.m. at the Goodyear Drive Thru on Newton Street.

Officer say the victim, a 33-year-old man, was there to give a friend a ride home.

As he waited inside, police say two suspects barged in and shot him before running away.

According to police, the victim is expected to survive his injuries. He’s been treated at a local hospital.

The suspects are described as men wearing black hoodies and ski masks with gray sweatpants.

Officers say one wore black shoes, and one wore white shoes.

Police are now turning to the public for helping in the search.
