SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - A local police department is warning the community of repeated crimes at Waffle House.

According to Springfield Township Police Chief Jack Simone, the incidents involve large gatherings and gunfire at the Waffle House on the 3000 block of South Arlington Road.

“These events pose a serious and escalating threat to public safety, impacting residents, business patrons, and responding officers,” a release from Chief Simone said.

The most recent incident happened on Sunday when officers responded to gunfire at the Waffle House around 4:30 a.m.

Simone said a vehicle stopped on the I-77 northbound ramp to Arlington Road and fired multiple rounds toward the restaurant. The bullets hit the building, shattered windows, and damaged vehicles in the parking lot.
