CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- A woman is recovering in the hospital after she was stabbed inside a library in Calvert County on Monday morning.
Minutes after 10 a.m. on Aug. 4, deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) responded to the Southern Branch Library on Trueman Road. Upon arrival, deputies located a woman who had been stabbed.
She was flown to a trauma center, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies located the suspect, a man, near the library and took him into custody.
"This is an active investigation; however, there is no ongoing threat to the public," said the CCSO in a release.
The sheriff's office noted that the Southern Branch Library is currently closed as the investigation continues.
