A man was arrested Thursday for raping a 13-year-old in Morgan County, according to recently filed court documents.

The documents reveal a Decatur police officer responded to Decatur Morgan Hospital on May 2 after receiving a report of rape. At the hospital, the officer met the mother of the 13-year-old victim, who said she found out her daughter had been sneaking out of the house over the past few weeks to have sex with 25-year-old Treyveon Putman.

Documents further state the victim participated in a forensic interview, where she confirmed she had sex with Putman.

Putman was charged with rape and booked into the Morgan County Jail. Jail records show he was booked on a $15,000 cash bond.

He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
