TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two drivers are accused of racing on the Selmon Expressway for a social media video.
The Tampa Police Department said just after 10 p.m. Sunday, an officer was getting on the expressway at Willow Street when two vehicles, a 2021 Honda Accord and a 2019 Dodge Challenger, raced by at speeds exceeding 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.
As the officer followed the drivers, police said they continued to recklessly speed and "cut through vehicles without regard for others on the roadway."
The drivers, identified as 19-year-old Angel Cortez Hurrea and 21-year-old Devin Harrison, were arrested during a traffic stop.
"Dude, you guys are gonna kill somebody," the officer told one of the drivers.
