FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) -- A man is facing 60 years in prison and is required to pay more than $18K after a stabbing that took place at Promenade Park.

On Monday, Lamont Cooley, 23, was sentenced to serve 60 years and pay more than $18K in restitution fees for a murder conviction that was issued following a stabbing in Promenade Park that occurred in January.

Cooley claimed he stabbed Anthony "Africa" Wamue because the man was allegedly harassing a woman named Brandi Summers in a public restroom at the park.

Eventually, police and prosecutors implicated both Cooley and Summers for attacking Wamue. In May, Summers was sentenced to six years in prison for assisting a criminal.
