WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- On Friday, police in D.C. arrested a second suspect believed to be involved in a bank robbery that took place last week.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that around 2:55 p.m. on July 31, suspects went into the Truist Bank on Georgia Avenue NW.
One of the suspects gave a teller a note that demanded money. The teller handed over a "large sum of money," and both of the suspects escaped.
MPD said that neither suspect used a weapon during the incident.
Officers first arrested 46-year-old Bobby Ransome of Northwest D.C.
After an investigation, detectives identified the second suspect and arrested 49-year-old Shawn Seegars of Forestville, Md.
Both men were charged with robbery of an establishment.
