CLINTON CO., Iowa (KWQC) - A Clinton County man is facing charges for abandoning a dog. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation and is reminding everyone that there is always an alternative to abandoning a dog, cat or other animal in the wild.

James B. Simpson Jr., 71, of Clinton was arrested on a warrant and is charged with abandonment of a dog, according to a media release from the sheriff’s office. Simpson was booked into the Clinton County Jail.

Simpson has an initial court date set for Thursday at 8:30 a.m.
