BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A California man was arrested and charged in late June at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing in Niagara Falls after allegedly being found with a fake ID for himself and items that could be used to make them, the United States Attorney's Office announced Monday.
Officials said on June 28, 34-year-old Miguel Angel Guevara-Murillo, of Stockton, arrived at the crossing after he made a wrong turn from the United States. He then provided Colombian passports to border agents, who found Guevara-Murillo to be a citizen of Colombia.
Guevara-Murillo entered the U.S. without inspection in 2022 and was served with a notice to appear, the attorney's office said. He was then released on parole.
