KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Funeral services have been announced for fallen Wyandotte County Sheriff's Deputy Elijah Ming, who was shot and killed in Kansas City, Kansas, while responding to a call on July 26.

Ming's funeral will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11, at Children's Mercy Park.

Parking lots will open at 9 a.m. with stadium gates opening at 10 a.m.

The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office said law enforcement procession and burial information will be announced at a later date.

At a community vigil last week, Ming was remembered as a father, college baseball player and wrestling coach. Remembered for his smile and being the same person out of uniform who served his community with honor, integrity and pride.
