NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A Norfolk man was sentenced to six years in prison Monday for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, in addition to being a felon in possession of firearms, according to the United States Attorney.

On May 13, 2024, law enforcement performed a controlled delivery of cocaine with 46-year-old Stanley Desmarat.

According to law enforcement, Desmarat arrived in a rental vehicle and retrieved the cocaine shortly after it was delivered. He was arrested shortly afterwards.

Investigators also performed a controlled purchase with Desmarat in February 2024.

Three handguns, one of which were stolen, was recovered after investigators conducted a search of Desmarat's residence. Various ammunitions and magazines were also recovered.
